The real meaning of a prep?
I want to know what people consider a prep. Do you identify more with the slang version than the traditional.
Which definition do you normally refer to a prep as? (I didnt write them, they came from Urban Dictionary)
Defintion 1:) A person, male or female who is normally a White, Anglo-Saxon Protestant, or WASP. Preps can be any religion, however. Preps shop at places like IZOD, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren etc. Preppy people wear pastels, polo shirts, khakis, sweaters, sun dresses, ribbons. Materials of choice are wool, cotton, corduroy, silk and occasionally denim.Preps play tennis, golf, squash, raquet ball and field hockey.
Definition 2: ) A person, male or female, who shops at AE, Aeropostale, A&F and other "preppy stores." Who is in the popular crowd and popular with boys. Who is in good shape and seemingly tries to be perfect. Plays soccer or lacrosse, normally. They have some money. Someone who acts girly, wears miniskirts. Snubs others lke goths, emo people.
I'd personally go with a mix of the two definitions. Something like this:
